Hunter Ranger Combat Mod 14 PVE English/Español
Zopita de Zemola
Hi! I play at pc and my name is Zopita de Zemola from guild La Hermandad Inmortal.
I’m going to writte my build in english and spanish because there are a lot of players from south america.
First of all, sorry for my english. I’m doing this PVE guide because there are a few combat guide and most of them are quite old.
Im just going to show you my feats/boons/powers. In the future i’m going to explain them (or just send me a pm here or at the game)
Race: Choose the one you like more and look for the most Dexterity >Wisdom >Strength
Best races for HR:
Dragonborn = DEX and WIS
Wood Elf = DEX and WIS
Drow (Dark Elf) = DEX and WIS
Half Orc = DEX and STR
Best stats roll:
- STR CON DEX INT WIS CHA
- 13 10 18 08 13 10
- 13 10 18 10 13 08 (mine)
- 12 10 16 10 16 10
Paragon: If fell better with Stormwarden, but i used to play Pathfinder and works quite similar, just change a few mechanics (but they are for a few boost of your damage)
As a dps we should focus on power, critical chance, critical severity and armor penetration.
Power = It’s our damage
Critical chance = posibility of deal a critical hit, we aim to get 100% critical chance.
Critical severity = how much its our critical hit going to improve our normal hit.
Armor penetration = ignore enemy defense, we need to reach 60% for every dungeon, 85% for chult and omu (tong & codg) and 100% for CR (Castle Ravenloft)
FEATS
If you choose Pathfinder change: Warden’s Courage for Fleets Stance (Trapper).
AT-WILLS / ENCOUNTER / DAILY
NOTE: Clear the ground is from SW, Split strike is for both paragons.
If you play SW, you can use Clear the Ground or Split Strike, it’s up to you.
Rotation its extremely easy: When you are mele: TAB 2 times[Feat: Agile combatant], Encounter [Procs: Flurry], 3 at wills, repeat. Always Starts With Throw Caution for a Boost damage.
Damage against Orcus (Castle Never)
The graph is just to give you an idea that most of our damage rely on At-Wills (Clear the ground) and 2 feats Piercing Blade & Blade Hurricane
GEARS / ARTIFACTS
Gear: Fiured Kiuno and Heels of Fury do not stack, going to change Fiured for Woodlord (armor from Castle Ravenloft). If they stack in the near future, I will go back to Fiured.
Active Artifact:
Trash: Sigil of the great weapon. Personally do not like Wheel of elements, i hate it but its a good option. Eye of the giant its another option.
Boss: Soul Sight Crystal without hesitate. Best Option.
-Enchantment:
- Offense: Brutal
- Defense: Radiant or Demonic
- Utility: Dark (i’m using Quartermaster because i still need a lot of RP)
- Armor: Barkshield
- Weapon: Feytouched, Vorpal. (I’m using feytouched, feel more confident than with vorpal)
– Artifact Class Feature: “Electric Shot/Clear The Ground” or “Split Shot/Split Strike” + “Aspect of the Pack”
COMPANIONS
- Chultan Tiger
- Air Archon
- Earth Archon
- Siege Master (can swap with Fire Archon)
- Razorwood
STATS with/without bondings.
Bondings are very important for pve!!
MOUNTS
The best combat power for DPS its from SWARM
Equip Power: 2000 Power or Critical Strike its quite fine. And if you do not have a Combat Power Change Cavalry’s Warning for Masgistrate’s Patience
Insignias: Crescent and Enlightened of skill (critical), Regal and Illuminated of Aggression (armor pen), Barbed of skill and barbed of dominance.
BOONS
Thanks for reading and if you have any doubt just let me know!!
Solamente voy a mostrar mis feats/boons/powers.
Dragonborn = DEX and WIS
Wood Elf = DEX and WIS
Drow (Dark Elf) = DEX and WIS
Half Orc = DEX and STR
Mejores Stats iniciales:
- STR CON DEX INT WIS CHA
- 13 10 18 08 13 10
- 13 10 18 10 13 08 (mine)
- 12 10 16 10 16 10
Power = Es nuestro daño.
Armor penetration = Ignorar defensa enemiga, necesitamos alcanzar 60% para cualquier dungeon, 85% para chult y omu (tong y codg) y 100% para CR (Castle Ravenloft).
FEATS
Si se elije Pathfinder cambiar: Warden’s Courage por Fleets Stance (Trapper).
AT-WILLS / ENCOUNTER / DAILY
Daño contra Orcus (Castle Never)
GEARS / ARTIFACTS
Gear: Fiured Kiune of the Bear y Heels of Fury no aplican su pasiva independientemente, solo se aplica una.
Active Artifact:
Trash: Sigil of the Great Weapon. Eye of the giant es otra gran opción a tener en consideración.
Boss: Soul Sight Crystal sin dudarlo
-Enchantment:
- Offense: Brutal
- Defense: Silvery or Demonic
- Utility: Dark (estoy usando quartermaster porque aún necesito muchisimos RP)
- Armor: Barkshield
- Weapon: Feytouched, Vorpal or Lighting.
– Artifact Class Feature: “Electric Shot/Clear The Ground” o “Split shot/Split Strike” + “Aspect of the Pack”
COMPANIONS
- Chultan Tiger
- Air Archon
- Earth Archon
- Siege Master (can swap with Fire Archon)
- Razorwood
STATS con/sin bondings.
Las Bondings son extremadamente importantes para pve!! Hay que mejorarlas cuantos antes.
MOUNTS
Insignias: Crescent y Enlightened of skill (critical), Regal e Illuminated of Aggression (armor pen), Barbed of skill y barbed of dominance.

Gracias por leer y cualquier duda haganmelo saber!!
Time to play! // Manos a la obra!
Zopita de Zemola
good write up, would swap gushing for plantgrowth in most situations, get more recovery then you can do plantgrowth more often trust me its worth it
Thanks dude! Im trying to get more recovery to use plantgrowth instaed of gushing for trash mobs, and for bosses using the first set up (picture 2 dcs) because gushing wounds at bosses its too good (dealing more than 1 millions dmg in 3 secs)
Nice layout. I’ll read this properly later. I have a Wood Elf Stormwarden Archer and a Halfling Pathfinder 6:2 Trapper/Combat from Mod 2 and they both need updating. I think the Pathfinder will use Sume’s PF Trapper build, but the Wood Elf will probably try your SW Combat (2nd load out)
Cheers!.
Thanks Bro! Totally agree!! Sume is a beast! I got most of my knowledge from him.
What’s your stats roll
You need to look for the most dexterity (gives you more dmg), second go for Wisdom (gives critical chance). I’ve made this toon a long time ago so don’t remember my exact roll.
Posted stats are :
15 12 33 12 24 10
The fact that CON, INT and CHA are 12, 12, 10 suggests that there is no campfire +1 bonus
Company Duelist Cloak is +2 DEX, +2 WIS
Belt of Dexterity is +4 DEX
Dragonborn means probably +2 DEX, +2 WIS
Each level up 10 to 70 would add +7 DEX, +7 WIS and +2 to everything else.
So that’s a total of:
+2 +2 +15 +2 +11 +2
This suggests starting rolls were 13 10 18 10 13 08 to finish with 15 12 33 12 24 10. The low CHA means there’s no combat advantage bonus from CHA, but with these stats and gear, who cares? Some may choose 13 10 18 08 13 10, though, just to get a little bit of bonus from CHA (but less Recharge from INT).
Campfire Bonus would then add +1 to all and Elixir of Fate would add another +1 to all.
Sadly, Potion of Heroism will not add another +1 to STR, DEX and WIS as they renamed it Elixir of Heroism, and we can only have a single elixir active at one time. So it will just override the Elixir of Fate.
🙁
Some people use 10 10 16 10 16 10 to have a more balanced DEX and WIS, but at end-game it’s easier to get 100% Crit Chance than at low gear, so stacking more into pure dps (DEX) works out better.
🙂
DOH! Typo.
That last paragraph should have had STR 12
12 10 16 10 16 10
WOW! nice info dude!!
I really appreciate it!! Thanks.
PS: i think i could edit the guide with starting stats if you let me.
Sure, help yourself if you’re happy the figures are accurate.
🙂
Hi,
When you updated the race choices you copied my typo!
Should be 12 10 16 10 16 10
not 10 10 16 10 16 10
Cheers! 🙂
Thought i wrote 12, fix it. Thanks!
Cool what’s good race to select for hunter ranger?
HR needs DEX for damage bonus and WIS for Crit or STR for ArPen.
So if you want to be optimal, any race with a +2 bonus to DEX and WIS and decent racial abilities is preferred.
Dragonborn = DEX and WIS (you can pick any two, so these are the ones)
Wood Elf = DEX and WIS or INT
Drow (Dark Elf) = DEX and WIS or CHA
1/2Orc = DEX and CON or STR
Halfling = DEX and CON or CHA
Sun Elf = INT and DEX or CHA
Dwarf = CON and WIS or STR
Half-Elf = CON and WIS or CHA
Tiefling = CHA and CON or INT
It’s probably most important to play a race you really like, unless you want to strive to be the best Ranger on the server. I have a min-maxed Wood Elf and a balanced roll Halfling but prefer the Halfling even though her stats are not optimal. She’s just more fun to play as a character because she’s so tiny she makes me laugh, scuttling about the place. She’s also less squishy.
The Wood Elf racials are +1% Crit chance and +10% Slow Resistance.
The Halfling gets +3% Deflection chance and +10% Crowd Control Resistance.
The Dragonborn gets +3% Power and Critical Strike ratings. This is not a flat +3%, it takes their ratings from gear etc and multiplies by 1.03. So at high gear level and very high ratings with Stronghold boons, this will be more than the Wood Elf’s +1% Crit Chance, plus they get more damage from +3% Power. They also get +5% Incoming Healing.
But I even saw a Tiefling Ranger, and they have the best stat bonuses for Warlock, Wizard and Paladin and the worst stat bonuses for Ranger. Ranger is their least favoured class. They do have the racial bonus of +5% damage versus enemies with less then 50% Max hp, but I am not sure if that can make up for the -2% on Damage and Crit chance. Due to their +2 on CHA they will get 2% more Combat Advantage damage and then either 4% more Base hp from CON or 2% more Recharge from INT. They also have a 10% chance to reduce the attacker’s power by 5% for 5 seconds when they get hit.
But I don’t recommend Tiefling as a Ranger race unless you really, REALLY like playing Tieflings and hate the preferred races.
🙂
What stat should I roll with halfling?
@Eric
Well, a Halfling would have +2 DEX and then either +2 to CON (for more base hp) or +2 CHA (for +2% bonus to Combat Advantage damage and Companion Influence).
The choice of CHA or CON is up to you, but for maxing dps, probably CHA. You have to put the +2 in DEX anyway.
So if you want to go for Max dps by end game, roll an 18 +2 DEX to start with 20. This will give you 13 in STR and WIS, and the other stats will be 10, 10, 08, and either CON or CHA will have +2. You can roll the 08 in any of the three, CON, INT or CHA. It takes 1 or 2 minutes to get the stats you want.
IE, you could roll any of these and have DEX 20.
St Cn Dx Int W Ch
13 10 18+2 10 13 08
13 10 18+2 08 13 10
13 08 18+2 10 13 10
Other people prefer to roll 16 in both DEX and WIS with STR 12. You start with +3% more Crit and Control Bonus and -2% damage and -1% Deflection:
12 10 16+2 10 16 10
Again, you can put the other +2 in either CON or CHA.
Is there a path for the powers I couldn’t really tell
Didn’t get you, Are you asking about the order using encounters o or the order to improve encounters (from lvl 1 to 4)
Like a picture of all your combat powers the path you chose to 70
Paragon: Stormwarden. Encounter: everytime you level up you are going to get 1 point to improve an encounter, try to get 3 points in every encounter i reccomend to choose. After lvl 70, every time you level up, you have a chance to get a power point to lvl up 1 encounter. Most of my encounters are lvl 4, so a picture its not gonna show you the ways i lvled them up
Can you still upload your abilities? do you play with pack and snake?
they are the abilities I play today, just changes blade storm to seeker vengance (doing some dmg tests)
Bien ahi pajero, igual no le voy a dar like a tu guia 😛
[email protected]
I noticed you didnt post what your personals are. What do you prefer to use for personals?
He says he uses the Off Hand Artifact Class Feature bonus for Aspect of the Pack. I think the other one is Seeker’s Vengeance, but the icon is a little small. They would be good in a party, especially against Bosses.
Zopita, what do you use when solo?
And does Aspect of the Pack count a summoned companion as “an ally” within 10 ft radius?
I know that there is an OP feat which only works when solo and away from allies, and a companion counts as an ally for that, so it doesn’t work except with an Ioun Stone etc.
Off the top of my head, I would probably use Blade Storm and Twin-Blade Storm, and maybe swap one for Aspect of the Lone Wolf if I was too squishy. But I don’t have enough knowledge or experience of the Combat path. My Wood Elf has 91 Power Points, so she can probably get 4 ranks in whatever’s needed for solo and party play.
Cheers!
Hello!
I run Seeker’s vengance and Aspect of the pack. They are the best combo in general (running in group).
I’m quite lazy but for trash seeker + twin blade storm is a good option when killing more than 3 mobs (with 2 or 1 TBS is useless) You change combat advantage (in party its not a problem at all to have CA) and 8% dmg (artifact) for 16% dmg. Im gonna test it in a few days.
Yes, Aspect of the Pack count summoned companion as “an ally”. So your companion and you get CA.
For solo content now I run SV+AotP. But i used to run Aspect of the lone wolf (cause we are too squishy) and Blade Storm. Twin blade is a good option too, but again knowing we are gonna fight 3 or more enemies. SV its not an option at least you run a defender companion who takes aggro and you could move behind mobs. If you manage to survive Blade Storm + Twin Blade Storm is the best for solo.
PD: My numbers are at max lvl.
Thx
Thanks for that, Zopita! That’s a great help.
The downside is that Aspect of the Lone Wolf requires me to be distant from allies, so probably would not work with a summoned combat companion. OK with my old Ioun Stones, though. For my Trapper and Archer, it’s nice to have AotLW if they get swamped when solo (they are not quite 11k yet). But for the Combat build, maybe not needed at all.
But they have enough power points to get rank 4 in everything they might need, so I’ll see how it goes.
Cheers!.
Aspect of the lone wolf works with companions, its doesn’t count as an ally. I thought the same way but i was wrong. Trust me it’s work.
Thx
Thanks a lot for the guide, im new to the game and its helping me a lot, can u please tell me the names of the artifacts u are using? i only recognize soul sight and lantern of revelations.
thanks
You’re welcome!! i’m glad its helping you.
The other 2 are: Lostmauth’s Horn of Blasting and Sigil of the controller (this one is the CW artifact)
Good write up, I hope we see a flood of different takes on combat hr.
Thanks dude!
Would be helpful if you could list the encounters, feature, and at-wills below the images. Most people will not know the icons and what they correspond to.
Thought its easier if you have pictures, but going to take your advise, ty dude
Pictures, PLUS a List, is always easier for the end-user.
EG, say they copy this guide and paste into Word to study off-line.
Hi, I see your power increased 21k+ after bonding, which means your companion has base power around 11k+? That’s really high, how did you do that?
bondings + protector camaradiere. got 9k power on companion, that why bondings are so important
how do you have 6 mounts in your stable? i only have 5
just have 5 active, one extra to show you another option if dont have mount combat power
I love the graph and stats you show. How did you get those??
“Advanced Combat Tracker” ACT
Hola. Me interesó tu guía.
Artifact class feature llevo Aspect of the pack, en artifact stat increase llevo combat advantage bonus
Hello , great guide ! I have one question. is using disruptive shot in your rotation necessary if you don’t have the ring of offencive action ? Thanks in advance !
If you do not have ring of offensive and/or Combatant’s maneuver (mount-insignia bonus) its not neccesary
it should be, you should be using shepherds devotion and using DS to keep it up 100% of the time
Hey ! Think I was in a guild with you this is poison ivy !
Good point btw , was just curious about the ring
hey, what reinforcement kits should we be using on our armour?
Power or crit, depends on your stats
What would you choose for your last 3 Storm King Thunder boons?
chill of winter
Would it be possible to add a list of your mounts names similar to how you did a list for the companions names? I first played this game last week. Great guide it has greatly improved my character.
